This website is about Stan Gee´s love of American Music, and in particular Western Music, and the Instruments needed to produce the atypical sound. His forthcoming performances & C,D,s accompanied by his partner Eve; their instrument Collection associated with their love of this music. Surplus instruments for Sale &/or Hire. Personal Tuition service, You can find some fairly rough examples of live performances on You Tube simply by putting Stan & Eve in the search box. But there are more professional clips of Ukulele playing filmed by the Dangleberry Music Company to promote there line of ukuleles. The Cleveland Ukulele Fraternity club that Eve hosts every 2nd. Wednesday in the month at the Duke William Pub in Skelton in Cleveland, and last but not least, the ‘Pickin’ Parlor’ club they jointly host whenever guest Artistes of exceptional ability in their chosen instrumental field become available. Unfortunately The Pickin´ Parlor now only exhists to promote such special Artistes, and so we would like to extend a welcome to prospective guest Artistes, especially Americans intending visits in the future. We are particularly interested in Folk Singers & Musicians in a traditional vein. i.e.´Old-Time´; Bluegrass; Western, but are also amenable to contemporary artistes providing that they consider that the instrumental side of their work is as vital as their songs. Please send us your demo C.D. and promo material and I´m sure we can fix you up with a gig at the Pickin´ Parlor! Tel. Stan 01642(Redcar)478859 or Eve ,01642 490517 |
On wednesday the 28th. of July. at the Duke William Skelton, Stan gave his ‘Chord-Logic´ Workshop especially for the members of the Cleveland Ukulele Fraternity. Around twenty budding players turned out early to hear about the logical path to learning every chord in every key, essential stuff for song accompanists as well as melodic Instrumentalists! The enthusiasm engendered by this pilot Workshop means it will be worthwhile to repeat the experience on a monthly basis, but at a more relaxed pace, allowing for ´hands-on´study! The Workshop will run on the 4th. wednesday of every month, alternating with the C.U.F. Strummeround night which will continue to meet on the 2nd. wednesday of every month. Please note that our little Ukulele Club Shop now stocks AQUILA strings; Ukulele Stands & Felt Picks along with the range of new & used Ukuleles & Uke-Banjos, shown on the instrument page of the website. Some of the Instruments available at recent guitar shows .jpg)
